Court Admissible VS Not Court Admissible The vast majority of customers purchase the "home test kit".  The results of a DNA test not ordered by the court is seldom submitted as evidence in a court of law.  The AABB does not accredit home kit tests because the sample collection is not in accordance with their sample collection standards (more information).  Our labs are accredited by the AABB and perform the identical testing steps regardless of it being a legal or non-legal test. Home DNA test kits listed as "Not Court Admissible" are not admissible due to the absence of the required "chain of custody" documentation.  The "chain of custody" refers to the various chain of "hands" that the individual sample passes through. A legal chain of custody requires the samples to be collected in the presence of a third neutral party at a lab, clinic, or hospital facility where all parties have their identity verified. If you order a home DNA test kit that comes with chain of custody documentation, all DNA samples must be collected in the presence of a third neutral party at a lab, clinic, or hospital facility where all parties have their identity verified.  We cannot guarantee that your judge will accept your test as qualified evidence.  However, to date, results have been accepted when the instructions have been properly followed by establishing a "chain of custody" as described above.  For more information, contact your attorney. Laboratory Response Time The typical response time for the lab to complete your test is listed in complete business days from the day the lab starts your test. A complete business day is 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday through Friday, excluding lab holidays. 98% of all tests are completed in the typical response time.   The lab will email the results when completed. Results can be delayed for many reasons. Please see this link for delay explanations. Please see this link to request the status of your test.

Special Stat Tests (1 day, 3 day, and 5 day). We monitor the status of all stat tests from start to finish.  We also call all customers immediately upon the completion of any stat test. If the lab does not complete your 1 day test in the specified time period , you will be refunded the price difference between the 1 day test and the 5 day test. If the lab does not complete your 3 day test in 3 complete business days and the test takes 4-5 complete business days you will be refunded $100. If your test completes in over 6 complete business days you will be refunded $100. There will not be any additional refunds if your test takes over 6 business days. If the lab does not complete your 5 day test in 5 complete business days and the test takes over 6 complete business days you will be refunded $50. There will not be any additional refunds if your test takes over 7 business days. The 1 day test requires a minimum of a 24 hour period.  Results will be completed by the close of business the day after the lab receives your samples.  Most of these cases are released the same day if the samples are received by 10:00 am.

Shipping All kits are mailed to the contiguous 48 states by 2nd day Courier except the 7 day test.  Upgrade your order to overnight. All Alaska and Hawaii orders are mailed by priority mail unless upgraded. 7 day test orders are sent by priority mail. All international orders are mailed by Global Priority Mail (3-7 days). All orders to be shipped to a P.O. Box are sent by priority mail. Kits can be split and shipped to as many locations as required.  The cost is $30 for each additional location.  Add your additional shipping location(s) using this form.  Each additional location receives the prepaid return mailer (U.S. orders only).

Returning Samples to the Laboratory All kits include a prepaid mailer to return samples directly to the laboratory. All samples must be returned to the lab in the same mailer unless you ordered the split kit option.

Testing Multiple Alleged Fathers or Additional Children All samples will be tested at the same time The reduced price ($130.00) is only available during original purchase of a paternity test. The price of adding an additional alleged father or child after your original test has completed is $180.00.

Related Alleged Fathers If the alleged fathers of a child are related (i.e. brother, uncle, father/son), this information must be disclosed at the time of ordering. All related possible fathers must be tested simultaneously. Results for related fathers may take longer if additional testing is required.

Results Results are mailed by first class mail, and emailed if address is provided. Depending upon mail service, results could be mailed the next business day.  This is not included in the "Laboratory Response Time".   If you provide an email address on your authorization form, your results will be emailed when completed. Overnight results are mailed upon day of test completion (if ordered).

Refund Requests Valid refund requests are issued within 10 days of request. Refunds must be requested using this form.
